How to Remove Engine Actuator Compressor ?

  • Disconnect the oil temperature sensor, and release the connectors for the actual valve body actuators.
  • Install the 10259B Tool with the tool's four bolts tightened to 9 N-m (80 in. lbs.).
  • Rotate the spring compressors until fully seated. Remove the nine bolts.
  • Remove the variable valve timing actuation assembly, with the spring compressor attached, from the camshaft bearing housing.

How to Install Engine Actuator Compressor ?

  • Install a new VVAA gasket (1).
  • Rotate the spring compressors until fully seated. Apply little white petroleum jelly to the plug tip. Set the Assembly into position.
  • Visually inspect the alignment of the plugers.
  • Reinstall all the bolts.
